Word Nerd: Exigency

Word Nerd Header Apr 2016 via LaWhimsyexigency-definition-word-nerd-via-lawhimsyExigency means an urgent, immediate need or demand or an emergency situation. Exigency is something that we are all aware of as each day seems to present yet another human rights or environmental or emotional dilemma. Due to the almost constant state of exigency, burnout is bound to happen and yet due to the exigent environment it doesn’t feel like an option. The best we can do is to make time to take care of ourselves so that we can keep on fighting the good fight. The exigency of our everyday is not going away, but we can keep positive by allowing ourselves to breathe and to live by example. Be kind and don’t engage in hate, be helpful where you can be, be compassionate, be the opposite of all that you dislike. That is the exigency right now – kindness and compassion.

Fight with love / fight with care / don’t sink down into despair. / Reach out with compassion / don’t react with hate. / Show care for each other / don’t rise to the bait. / The exigency of now is to be kind / to hold on to each other and make hope divine. / We’ve got this / we’ll do it / we’ll find our way through it / United with passion / Together we’ll fashion our future. ~ Ella

There is still hope in humanity and we’ll forge forward!

Namaste ~ Ella
