An aesthete is one who loves, understands, has a deeply felt affinity and appreciation for the art, beauty, music, nature, etc. To be an aesthete means that your entire being – mind, body, and soul – is sensitive to the beauties of art and nature. An aesthete can be overcome with an emotional response to a brilliant painting, or can feel their very soul resonate with a piece of music being played, or even be moved to tears by the sheer brilliancy of a sunset. Anyone can be an aesthete since it is something that can be harnessed and refined within each of us. By paying attention to our world and the creative, artistic beauty that is all around on a daily bases, one can easily become open to their aesthete nature.
A single rose, so red and bright / in which the aesthete takes delight / The heady scent so lushly blossomed / a last sweet glimpse of growth in Autumn / Tears do prick behind the eyes / at this beauty with no disguise / A moments respite in a weary day / a moment of pure beauty at play / So wonder do those who never believe / the magic in the aesthete’s reality. ~ Ella
