Ambivert is a word that finds that happy medium between introvert and extrovert and it’s a relatively new word to me. While I do tend to lean towards introversion, I still have many qualities that fit the extrovert description and that is where the concept of ambiversion comes in. An ambivert is one who is equally comfortable in situations where the introvert feels most at home and where the extrovert does. Ambiversion is a much needed third personality type, the middling spot on the introversion to extroversion scale. I think it’s important to be able to name ambiversion as a personality type since it provides a more detailed and personal look at personality traits.
Alive in a crowd / at home on my own / energy draws and drains as I go. / Introvert, maybe / Extrovert, perhaps / Ambivert fits me as I adjust my stance. / I thrive with others with a familiar by my side / I glow with contentment in quiet, solitary times. / A middling ground / a balancing act / this ambivert life is my kind of dance. ~ Ella
