Apotelesma is of or relating to the casting of horoscopes, or the influence of the stars on human destiny. Apotelesma derives from the Greek apotelesmatikos (astrologically influential). Apotelesma is an archaic term and thus it’s not a word that one would likely come across in a casual manner.
I like apotelesma because I have a great interest in the stars and planets and their possible influences upon us. While many may scoff at horoscopes and their ilk, I find them fascinating. Since time began, humans have looked up at the vast cosmos and felt it’s heady, sometimes frightening, and powerful presence in their lives, thus the coining of a word like apotelesma.
Who you are, who you will become, is your destiny writ upon the heavens? Apotelesma could light the way…
