Alpas means to become free or break loose. Alpas is a Filipino word (and Filipino itself is a standardized variety of the Tagalog language). Alpasan also means loose, set free or let go.
Alpas is a word I kinda love just because it’s so different and I’ve always found Tagalog to be an interesting language. I’m not really sure how I’d personally go about incorporating alpas into my day-to-day language, however I’m planning on exploring it a bit more.

Alpas seemed a somewhat fitting word with this seasonal change since I always feel set free at the fresh start of a new season! What do you think of the word alpas?
