Auld Lang Syne means the good old times. Auld Lang Syne is Scottish and literally translates as “old long since”. Auld Land Syne was popularized as a poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, though it was being used in Scottish folk songs as early as the 1500’s.
Auld Lang Syne is often deemed the most popular song that nobody actually knows.
