Word Nerd: Scrummy

Word Nerd Header Apr 2016 via LaWhimsyscrummy definition Word Nerd via LaWhimsyScrummy is a more casual slang word that means delicious. Scrummy is thought to derive from combing the words scrumptious and yummy for informal use. Scrummy is used to describe that deeply satisfying and pleasing feeling that one gets after consuming something with their senses.

I think scrummy is an incredibly, well, scrummy word! As someone who takes in the world with incredibly sensitive, heightened senses, I relate quite strongly with the feelings that scrummy describes. Scrummy is everything that is delectable, lovely and divine to the senses, from lush fabrics, to heavenly scents, to the richest piece of chocolate melting on your tongue.

nothing is quite so scrummy as a warm drink ona cold morning via LaWhimsy A morning of ice that hangs in the air / breath forming crystals so crisp and so clear / Nothing seems untouched by the chill / yet joy thaws the heart so long as there is will / Join in the moment / be one with the day / enjoy a scrummy refresher as you go on your way… ~ Ella

Scrummy is an absolutely wonderful word for the holiday season since it is a time filled with such scrummy delights! It also simply tickles my fancy to describe something as being scrummy since it can almost sound like scummy but it’s the polar opposite – makes people think twice!

Namaste ~ Ella
