Minutiae (which is the plural of minutia, which means”smallness.”) are those tiny, seemingly insignificant details of something. Really, minutiae are the very things that make the whole of something that much more pleasing, yet so many will overlook them or not notice how significant the minutia is until it’s missing. Saying “the minutiae of everyday life” may seem like a throwaway statement until you stop and look a little closer at just what that minutiae is. When you see that it refers to waking, washing, cooking, cleaning, breathing, you know, living, the minutiae suddenly becomes much more important.
The minutiae in this piece is amazing, I mean look at that adorable puppy, captured so wonderfully right down to it’s little claws!
Minutiae is a word I use a lot and it’s one I rather enjoying using since it reminds me to look at the details and the little things that make up the bigger pictures all around me.
