Monday Mantra 139 – One kind word can warm three winter months.

One kind word can warm three winter months. Japanese proverb quote Monday Mantra 139 via LaWhimsy“One kind word can warm three winter months.”~ Japanese Proverb

The Winter Solstice is fast approaching here in the Western Hemisphere and with it the longer nights and colder, darker weather. It’s a time of quiet, a time of inner reflection and rest. A time that many can equate to harshness and loneliness, and yet the gentle gesture of a kind word can warm these Winter months and cause the harshness to ease and the loneliness to lift – for both the recipient and the giver of the kind words. The power behind kind words is often forgotten, with many believing that the louder, angrier, or crueler words have the true power. This is a false belief since those types of words are merely force and force wins only in hate. Words formed in kindness have deep, loving roots that weave into the hearts and souls of all. They have a longevity that belies their sweet simplicity and a strength that can weather any storm. One kind word is worth a million words spoken with cruelty and if each of us said one kind word to every living things we interacted with, think of the Winters we would thaw, the hearts we would touch, the change we would create. One kind word is the start of something amazing. Just one kind word. You have that kindness in you and are all the more powerful for it!
