Rhapsodic is an extremely emotional word, and since it derives from the term rhapsody that’s not surprising. I mean one can easily fall into rhapsodic raptures about so many things, whether it be an event, a gift, food, a memory, a moment, nature, etc. Rhapsodic is such a delicious descriptive word! I know I can be rhapsodical about so much – a sunset can literal drives me to tears of joy at the sheer ecstasy it can create in my soul. As a quaintrelle I feel that being rhapsodic is second nature, though I do know how to temper it so as not to seem overly irrational (though is expressing joy and elation really a sign of being kooky or dippy? I think not!). I do suppose, however, there is a time and place for incandescent rhapsodical musings.
Evelyn Nesbit’s smile is perfectly rhapsodic, don’t you think?
Rhapsodic is most certainly a new favorite word, and one that I may just consider for my Word of the Year for 2016!
Namaste ~ Ella
