Monday Mantra 84

You think it's cool to hate things. And it's not. It's boring. Talk about what you love and keep quiet about what you don't. Josh Radnor, Liberal Arts quote Monday Mantra 84 via LaWhimsy“You think it’s cool to hate things. And it’s not. It’s boring. Talk about what you love and keep quiet about what you don’t.” ~ Josh Radnor, Liberal Arts

The Internet can seem to be a place of hate, of cruelty, harshness, of “keeping it real”. Yet, when did this so called “keeping it real” mean to only hate-talk or bash? Why does the trend seem to be one of negative outlets and if one express happiness or joy, they are being fake? Cool seems to equate to hate, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Not at all. If you choose to focus instead on what you love, on what you enjoy, on the goodness that you encounter and do, then suddenly, as if by magic, there is more positive and it becomes the main focus. Haters may hate, but Lovers shall love and it’s up to you which you want to be (and yes, I know that is a rather saccharine way to put it, but it’s the truth and sometimes being a wee sweetly trite is just the way to be!). Challenge yourself this week to talk only about what you love and keep quiet about the rest. You may just amaze yourself!
