Kef is a truly gorgeous word, I mean when one of the definitions reads “A condition marked by voluptuous and dreamy repose and the passive enjoyment of languor.” how could it be anything else? Kef is also used to describe a smoking material (such as marijuana) that produces a drowsy, contented state. While that makes perfect sense, a state of kef can easily be reached without narcotic substances. Overly warm weather, a long, productive day, even a wonderful night’s sleep can lead to that deliciously relaxed, dozy state of kef.
Kef is the kind of contentment where you can luxuriate as you stretch your lusciously heavy limbs as your body relaxes in repose and your mind quiets into an invitingly peaceful place. This lux image that seems to capture kef oh, so perfectly is a painting by Pino Daeni called Everlasting Beauty.
I utterly adore the word kef and I intend to make great use of it!
