Riparian is a new nature word for me, and a truly wonderful discovery at that. Riparian describes that place that lies between a stream or river and the land. I love the riparian banks, where moss grows, and where the dirt and grass turn to mud, sand, and dampness. The heady scent of a stream as it meets the land, the sounds of running water mixed with rustling trees – riparian heaven!
A forest world of quaint delights / where freedom reigns in nature’s sight / heaven meets the mortal world / on riparian banks in a green swirl / I long to immerse my soul in this / let go of the pain / let it flow away. / May I be calm, centered, at peace / as I rest in the peace of this wilderness. ~ Ella
