Torrid is a word that one finds themselves knowing without ever really knowing quite how or when they learned it. You hear or read about torrid love affairs, torrid weather, and torrid quandaries, each one conjuring up an intense, all-encompassing situation. You experience your own torrid incidents and liaisons, each as intense as an oppressively hot, humid afternoon in the South. And you find that the word torrid is a very apt and utterly divine descriptive term that adds that perfect bit of dramatic flair.
Okay, so maybe things are never quite this torrid, but you certainly can’t beat the campy, sensationalism that is pulp art & stories!
All that said, with as hot as it has been, torrid is certainly my go-to weather adjective at present! How about you?
