This gorgeous quote (first featured in my Yugen Word Nerd) has been an almost constant companion over the past few days. It’s been in the rumbling thunder, in the sudden down-pouring of rain. It’s been shimmering, radiant across the humidity dampened mountain range, through the komorebi in the sylvan woods. It’s been in the purrs of my cat, the sweet breathing of my dog, the embrace of a friend, the bird songs, and rustling trees. Sometimes it’s quietly humming, or softly, gently being whispered into my ear. I can feel a sense of deep yearning that can and will be answered if I pause and soak in the glorious, deliciously connected meaning of these words.”Walking. I am listening to a deeper way. You are the result of the love of thousands.” Linda Hogan strikes me straight in the heart and my soul reverberates with it’s powerful touch. As one who has always felt an unbreakable tie to the ancestors I’ll never know, this truth, these words, are enough to make me weep with joy. To know that love is there, for me, that I do stand strong with the love of thousands, is a heady, wonderful comfort and one I gladly sink fully into. May you, too, feel the touch of your ancestors love and may it be a gift to guide you, comfort you, and bring you home to YOU.
