Get Messy

Get Messy Week 3

Get Messy Week 3 by LaWhimsyThese hands have done so much – held on to love and let it go, mended souls and gave life, healed, hurt, consoled, petted, twisted, wrung and fell away…They’ve done so much you see. ~ La

This week’s art journal pages were amazing to create. I’ve been obsessed with drawing hands as of late (I don’t know why, I just think they are neat) and so I took a piece of paper, cut it down to fit within my journal and drew the two hands gently overlapping. I then added rings (the big one is loosely based on my favorite vintage turquoise ring) and a fun “manicure”. The words simply flowed from my mind and seemed so perfectly fitting. I ran a thin bit of washi tape along the edges of my journal and then I folded my paper and glued it in.

Now I’m off to draw even more hands…it’s addictive…does anyone else get that way when creating? You just sorta get obsessed with something and keep on using it/making it/etc?

    1. Thank you Vanessa, I have a habit of focusing on everyday thing and seeing them as rather marvelous, tee-hee!

  1. Beautiful pages 🙂 I love that you matched the nails to your own! It’s like a wishful (because of the rings) hand self portrait! Love it!

  2. I love your hands. I was that way once with hand and all body parts. I knew that practicing over and over again that I would get better so I did. Then I got really bored of drawing/sketching people so I moved on. Love how you drew on the rings, I miss wearing mine.

    1. I tend to go through phases with what I feel like creating – it’s just how my inspiration hits. 🙂
