“Sometimes it’s okay if the only thing you did today was breathe.” ~ Unknown
Breathing is just as important as constantly doing…
“Sometimes it’s okay if the only thing you did today was breathe.”
Life can feel as though it’s constantly moving – fast, furious, a never-ending race. It’s just doing, doing, doing and when you feel overwhelmed and beyond exhausted, it’s still go, go go.
I mean I have some mild anxiety from simply typing that.
It can be so easy to feel that if you were to pause, to take a moment or five to breathe, you’d fall irreparably behind. And that is insane!
We all need to feel okay to go easy on ourselves because we are only human! Humans need rest, need breaks, need time to simply breathe and do nothing.
It shouldn’t be a wild, out there notion that you are allowed to be tired. To be cranky. To simply just be whatever you happen to be feeling at any given time.
Some days you kill it, are on top of everything, and are feeling as fly as can be. And that is awesome! Other days are just blah and it feels as though nothing gets done, and your accomplishments are nil and almost nonexistent. And that’s perfectly, acceptably alright.
On those quieter, slower days you need to remind yourself that it’s okay if all you did was breathe, because you know what? That means that you’re still alive and so you’ll get back to doing and accomplishing and being your awesome, badass self again. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or even next week. The important thing is knowing that You Will.
This life, your life, is all yours to make of, and do with it what you will, and if some days are spent just breathing know that it’s okay and perfectly, wonderfully permissible. You will take charge and accomplish what you need to, just maybe not right now. So just breathe and relax into your bones however you are able to. You’ve got this.
