“A book can teach you, a conversation can assure you, a poem can seduce you, a genius can inspire you but only you can save yourself.” ~ Anthony Anaxagorou
Inspiration floods this world at every turn and there are so many things that can influence you from the outside, however…
“A book can teach you, a conversation can assure you, a poem can seduce you, a genius can inspire you but only you can save yourself.”
Every single one of us has a savior, a powerful, personalized guide who can save and lead us from the darkest depths of our seemingly endless nights to the brightest, most amazing heights of our best selves.
This savior is within us, of us – it is US. Our very self is our truest savior.
There are teachers every where. Lessons to learn, skills to aid, ears to listen, hearts to love, arms to hold, eyes to cry, lips to give encouragement. This world holds infinite means of inspiration and influence, assurances and seductions. Yet it all ultimately comes down to YOU. What you choose. What you do. What you learn, hold on to, let go of, hear.
I get the lure of the outer, the idea that someone else can swoop in and lift you up and save you from whatever is overcoming you – even yourself. I mean, hero worship is real for a reason. Who doesn’t want to be saved?! I have yearned for that very thing and yet, the best outcome has always come from me saving myself. Yes, I have had (and still have) support and love from dear ones, but it always comes down to me saving myself. To me choosing to invest in and love and care for myself.
In the end, you have to save yourself. You have to invest and believe in YOU. You can do it. You have the strength and power within yourself, even when you think you don’t. You are worth it. You are your best self and You are your savior. You have that power. Now. In this moment and in each moment to come.
Yes, others can help and it’s a wonderful, marvelous thing. And sometimes it’s the push and pull you need to get going. But You continue it and You save yourself from being your worst and instead become your better, then your best. You can and You will and You will be grateful for just how must You are capable of.
