Faith is a source of all things, big and small…
“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.“
This quote is such a powerful one, one that invokes change and the action it takes to create change. Change, after all, takes faith. Faith that what is currently happening can and will be different. Faith that it will be worth the difficulties, the discomfort, the effort. Faith that you can do it – any of it.
This change can be for anything, from the restructuring of a broken system weighed down by it’s glut of corruption and greed that has been built upon the backs of stolen lives and freedoms, to the changes to you want in your own life’s daily structures.
Change is a spectrum and it is needed for any kind of growth to happen. Nothing stays the same and no, change doesn’t always mean “burn it to the ground and build up from the ashes”. Change can be so subtle that you don’t even notice it until you pause to view a bigger picture. Other times, yes, it’s as subtle as a Hurricane.
The thing is, faith can make these changes work and work in your favor. By choosing to trust that life will be constantly flowing, you can keep moving forward along with it. By choosing to trust as you take each step that another one will follow, you are going with faith.
Life has never been intended to be stagnant. We, as humans, were not created to be stagnant. We evolve and change and learn and grow and find ways to do and be better. Better, by the way, ultimately means finding the ways that harm none and that lift up everyone – not just ourselves. Better means leaving behind us a world that is different than the one we know in as many kind, loving, and caring ways as possible.
We, each of us, can create a better reality so long as we go forward with the faith that for each step we take, another one will appear and before we know it we will have walked an entire staircase toward change. It just takes a step in faith to start and to find your way again.
