This is one of those delightfully obvious, yet oh so easily overlooked, bits of wisdom wrapped up in a simple quote. You’re always one decision away from a totally different life. I mean, how amazingly powerful is this?! One decision and *boom* a totally different life!
Okay, so it may not always be quite that straightforward or easy, but it is true. Say, for example, you have been being super negative in your thinking and it’s affecting your life in ways that you don’t like. Well, by deciding to change your thinking habits and being proactive in training yourself to think positively first, you are creating a totally different life.
It will always take action, not just a decision, to bring that totally different life to fruition, but you know what? It’s always worth it. Always.
The power and magic in this quote lies solely in your unique hands and actions. What you decide and then put into action, defines and shapes your life. You have control of how you make your choices and how you go about developing your existence. How heady and wondrous is that?!
You are constantly one decision away from creating and crafting a totally different life for yourself. Just wow.
Now, for as cool as this is, it can also be intimidating (trust me, I get it!). I’m sure thoughts like “What if I screw it up?” or “What if I make a wrong or bad decision?” or “Am I even capable of making such a good choice/life?”. Hell, I know there are times this notion can cause a meltdown or paralysis.
I’ve been there. I’ve done that. I’ve thought it all and then some. But you know what? There is no true right or wrong. There is no real way to mess up so long as you are working from a genuine place within yourself. Seriously, so long as you are coming from a place of honesty and integrity (and they both can grow and change within you as you grow and change) you can’t fail. You can change. You can grow. You can discover that by making one choice at a time, one simple change here, another there, you will create and have that totally different life.
I’ve struggled with this my entire life and each time I surrender the what-ifs and let go of the fear and doubts, I find that I am doing exactly that. I’m making that one decision and shifting myself into that totally different life that I so desire. By tuning into myself, I am able to move towards all that I want and by cultivating myself, I’m cultivating my life. It only takes one decision at a time and before you know it, a totally different life is yours. We’ve got this!
