The Veil’s Thin…

Let’s go on a journey that roams through the Worlds of here, there & other and let’s see what unfurls…

Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat…
~Nicholas Gordon

‘Tis the night – the night
Of the grave’s delight,
And the warlocks are at their play;
Ye think that without
The wild winds shout,
But no, it is they – it is they.
~Arthur Cleveland Coxe

A gypsy fire is on the hearth,
Sign of the carnival of mirth;
Through the dun fields and from the glade
Flash merry folk in masquerade,
For this is Hallowe’en!

Window mannequins. 1950s.

Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen,
Voices whisper in the trees, “Tonight is Halloween!”
~Dexter Kozen

At first cock-crow the ghosts must go
Back to their quiet graves below.
~Theodosia Garrison

Halloween is a night of masks
Be someone else while the moment lasts.
Tricks and Treats shall come your way
As the spooks and ghouls come out to play.
Now that the veil between Worlds has thinned,
Open up and let the fun begin.
The days draw shorter as Winter’s night is near,
But rejoice right now and have no fear.
Laugh and play, delight and sing
On this the night of Halloween!
