Merry Winter Solstice…
“Even the darkest night gives way to the light.”
‘Tis the longest night of the year once more. A night of reflection and coziness and quiet delights. Winter has arrived in all it’s icy, blustery, bare-bones glory. Nature is slumbering and all is cast in shades of brown and grays and blues.
While right now all is festive and merry and bright, it can become a bit more difficult as the Winter goes on, increasingly dull and spiritless. The thing is though, Winter is in it’s a truth a season of hope. Hope that the promise of a return of the light will happen. That the seasons will shift once again and Spring will bring forth it’s buds and blossoms and renewal of life and warmth.
It may seem to go on, but even the darkest night gives way to the light.
This past year has felt like a long, dark night and one that isn’t over as yet. That said there is hope glimmering upon the distance horizon. A horizon that grows closer with each day, each breath, we take. So long as we hold on to that hope of the new dawn filled with light, we shall make it through. And before we know it this long, dark night will be but a memory, a story to tell and mayhaps a lesson to draw upon.
May this Yuletide see you merry and safe and all of your loved ones too, for thought you may not be physically together, your spirits will forever and always be entwined, for this is life’s sweet gift to you.
