Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
International Women’s Day is a day to recognize and celebrate all of the women in your life and in this world. All of the women who are making their marks in this world and who have blazed trails in history, whether they were, or are still, anonymous or not!
It seems a bit ridiculous to have to have a day set aside to take note of women, since women are active, equal contributors to society and have been since time began. Believe it or not, women are humans and all humans are equal. We are all the same. We bleed, we cry, we feel, we rejoice. It doesn’t matter the color, the race, the sexual orientation – We. Are. All. Equal. Women are not better than Men, however, they are most certainly NEVER LESS.
As I have discussed before, anyone who believes this very basic fact that all women and all people are equal and they deserve to be treated as such is a feminist. Why anyone would not believe this is truly their own issue (and it’s one that should not be foisted upon anyone else!).
Today take the time to celebrate yourself if you are a women, or take the time to celebrate the women you know and then continue to recognize and celebrate them each and every day as the awesome humans that they are. Here’s to strong Women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them, and may we all become better, equal people for it!
