Two wrongs never make a right, nor do two negative people make for a positive life…
“The less you respond to negative people, the more peaceful your life will become.”
Life has been heavy and it feels like its been a mire of negative people pushing negative agendas for, well, ever. And with this being an election year in the US, and one that looks to be even uglier and more hateful than the last one, it feels like the negativity will be even more daunting.
However, there is a work around, a way to bring peace to your life and mind. Are you ready for it?
Stop responding to the negative people, or at the very least, respond to them less.
Now, this doesn’t mean turn a blind eye to injustice or cruelty or anything like that. Those things need to be fought and brought to light and discussed. What it means is that instead of spending your energies arguing yourself blue in the face with those who only wish to be negative and nasty and hateful, you put your energies where they can actually do good.
Instead of spending time hate-talking right back to hostile, venom spewing Twitter or Facebook accounts, you perhaps simply report them and then find somewhere else to be. Or maybe just leave both places altogether and find a healthier forum to discuss things in.
If politics make your mind melt with rage due to the viciousness, the blind followings, the inequalities, etc, maybe choose to disengage and find less volatile was to engage. There are many ways to stay informed without taking part in the negative narratives that play out all over.
If there are people in your daily life who are simply negative no one says you have to interact with them beyond the basic civilities.
What it comes down to is why drop down to that level when you can lift yourself higher and move away with grace and compassion for yourself? Why spend your precious life and time in and with the negative when you could be doing so much else? Why continue the cycle when breaking it feels so much better?
The less you actively engage with negative people, the more peaceful your life becomes and the more you can engage in positive actions that will create positive change. The only way to truly fight hate and negativity is to disengage from it and practice and show an example of the opposite.
This life is much to great a gift to spend it hating and being negative. I’m here to make a difference and I plan to do just that by choosing love over hate, education over ignorance, and positivity over negativity. How about you?
Namaste ~ Ella
