Happiness is a gift and a power…
“To live happily is an inward power of the soul.”
Happiness is bandied about so much that, after awhile, it can almost lose a certain sense of meaning. We all want happiness, we desire to live happy lives, dream happy dreams, be happy people. What, however, and just where is this seemingly elusive happiness?
Happiness, joyfulness, delightfulness – each of these is something worth having, worth seeking out and aiming for. But, what if you already have them? What if I told you that happiness isn’t so much elusive as it is a conscious choice of power. A choice to look inward and tap into the power of the soul that resides within and without you.
We all know that happiness is a choice, but have you ever thought of it as a power and a power that you possess? The idea that you have the choice of happiness right here, right now. While you might not be in control of your current situation, you are in control of yourself and that is a mighty power that you have flowing through your very being.
It can be a bit tricky, since so much tends to place happiness in an elusive, always tomorrow, always with constantly changing conditions, place. One that is just out of reach, if only this or that away from being yours. It’s a trap society at large places in everyone’s way. Happiness is a commodity to be packaged and sold and those who try to buy it are always left lacking and wanting more fulfillment, more lasting substance.
The catch is that true happiness cannot be bought or sold or even marketed to the masses in an eye-catching, quick, millions of likes package. Real happiness comes from within the individual and it takes honesty, willingness, and love. It takes looking inside yourself and discovering your true self and the power that lies there.
If you decide to tap into it, happiness will come to you, in your way. It’s an amazing, worthwhile and lasting endeavor and one that you deserve to embark upon. The inward power of your soul is incredible – will you acknowledge it?
