It’s a little mind-blowing if you pause and acknowledge the fact that you are the only you there is or ever will be…
“You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.“
It fully stands to reason then that you are the only person who can use your natural abilities. Read that again and let it fully sink in. Only you can do you. Only you are qualified and capable of using your unique skills. Only you.
“Sure, but there are so many others who are better, smarter, more talented, etc.” is what you may be thinking, however, we are talking about you and your particular, individual and exclusive ability. You are the only person who can see through your eyes, who can work your brain, who has your distinct viewpoints and perceptions and these things all make you and your abilities yours.
It can be difficult to actually wrap your mind around it, this idea that you do have a unique and you-specific ability, but it’s the truth. I know that when I first encountered this notion, I took it solely on face-value, in a sort of “oh, yeah, I suppose that’s true…oh, but I’m not as good as this or as experienced as that..blah, blah, blah.”. However, when I slowed down and really took in the words and their meaning, it began to unlock something deep inside me. A sort of knowing that my life, my abilities, my way of seeing and experiencing the world around me made me the only person on this earth, right here, right now, who could use my abilities.
It doesn’t matter that there are others who have the same skills or talents or who are more learned or practiced, they don’t have my abilities just like I don’t have theirs. It’s our individual selves that give our essence to our abilities and that is what makes each of us awesome and skilled in our own ways. Each of us has something new, something different, something worthwhile and needed to share with the world. It doesn’t matter how small or insignificant it might appear to us, it matters and it’s part of something that will last forever.
We each of us, so long as we use and act on and with our abilities, have something to share, something to give and something that is needed, right here, right now. You are the only person on this earth who can use your ability and you are the only YOU on this earth. How incredible is that?!
