“It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.” ~ Mary Oliver
How beautiful is this sentiment taken from the poem Invitation by Mary Oliver?
“It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.”
It is a serious, glorious, miraculous thing to be alive on this fresh, new morning in this damaged world. To know that you have been given the gift of another day, another breath. Yes the world may seem fractured and bleak, but you are alive! And since you are alive you have a chance to bring about some goodness, some kindness and a chance to acknowledge the same as it shows up in abundance all around you.
It’s there. It’s always there. The goodness, the wonder, the joy – it simply is and it waits only for you to stop and take notice of it. To engage with it and embrace it and share it in turn. To see how so much beauty grows in the cracks, how there is a multitude of things to take delight in. How even amidst the disjointed chaos there is the steady pulse of the Earth, beating on with glee.
It’s a serious thing, you know, to be so alive in this maybe not so broken world after all.
Namaste ~ Ella
