Monday Mantra 112 – I need to be alone for certain periods of time or I violate my own rhythm

I need to be alone for certain periods of time or I violate my own rhythm. Lee Krasner quote Monday Mantra 112 via LaWhimsy“I need to be alone for certain periods of time or I violate my own rhythm.”~ Lee Krasner

How often do you need a minute to yourself? A moment of quiet to breathe, settle your thoughts and emotions, and get in-touch with yourself? Most people need time like this every single day, and often times much more than just a minute or two here and there. We are all of us wired to need a certain amount of alone time – that time apart from the buzz of the everyday. The time we need varies by person. An extrovert may not need much time at all, while an introvert may need days at a time. The fact of the matter is, however, that we all need a certain period of time alone so that we don’t violate our own rhythm. We are at out best when we heed our rhythms and take care of ourselves. For myself, I know that I need time each day to myself. Time where I can recenter my crazed and easily overwhelmed mind. Sometimes I meditate, other times I daydream, sometimes I embroider, or draw, or anything else that can take me into a state of quiet calmness where I can place my ear down by my soul and listen. Being alone can be such a magical, beautiful, empowering thing and it’s something many of us take for granted. Make time to be alone, even if it’s only a few minutes, and honor your rhythm and yourself.
