Monday Mantra 87

True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents. John W. Gardner quote Monday Mantra 87 via lawhimsy“True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents.”~ John W. Gardner

Happiness, true happiness seems to be the goal and focus of so much of life. Happiness is bandied about as some magical, almost elusive nirvana. A potent elixir and sought after ideal of a dream.  Improving life so it’s easier means more happiness. Finding inner peace means more happiness. Fixing whatever problems or issues you may or may not have means more happiness. What if, however, instead of focusing on fixing, on changing, on epic lifestyles, or perfect this or that, we instead simply gave our all to whatever is right now, right in front of us. What if we just gave unto ourselves and to others the joy and talents and power we do possess? The key to happiness is to simply and fully and truly BE. To exist in the now, with the now, and of the now. You don’t have to be the best at something, just the best YOU at whatever something you are doing. If you invoke your own power, your talents will show themselves and your life will be filled with happiness. It’s an amazing thing. It really is.
