Life is poetry and poetry is life. This is a fact. Plain and simple as that. Poetry is what flows through our veins and pulses through the very Earth. Each season has it’s own form of poetry, it’s own inspirations and graces, however Autumn is one season where poetry seems to pour out in amazing abundance. Perhaps because it is a season of contemplation, of grand expositions, and quiet reflections. It’s a season of extremes, of fire, and of death, and death and our mortal shells provide some of the greatest poetry there is, next to that of love. And what is love but the very reason we are here, living a mortal life we long for the immortal and love has that in spades. For to love and be loved – whether it be romantic, platonic, familial, nature-born, or any of the vast multitude of ways there is to love – is truly the purest essence of life. Autumn’s last great dance before the cold, silent sleep of Winter is a show of love, bounty, and awe-inspiring promise that though it may seem like an end, a death, life will return and this is Nature’s way of providing a warmth that will last until Spring awakens and the beautiful dance of love and life begins anew. Love, life, death, and poetry – all are one and all bear the poetry that is and always will be.
