“Why hurry over beautiful things? Why not linger and enjoy them?” – Clara Schumann
Why not, indeed?! Taking the time to stop and smell, savor and thoroughly enjoy the roses – both literal and figurative – is an essential part of life. Truly, it’s the best part of life since it’s all of those little, beautiful things that make-up the whole and that are remembered with fondness and utter joy. My art journal pages this week represent this to me, since it’s little pieces all pulled together, with plenty of soft, white space to allow for observation and enjoyment.
The quote itself is handwritten (in a casual cursive hand) with washi-tape accents and placed at a sweet tilt over drawn circles, while the second page has free-hand drawn lines, cross-hatches and washi-tape elements and a darling bit of art taken from my paper elements pile.
I hope everyone has a chance to linger and enjoy some of life’s beautiful things this week!

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We share our pages without restraint every week, and once a month we create around a prompt. Go check out these crazy talented ladies who are creating pages who each have a unique perspective and style. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

Wow, what a beautiful quote to create your pages around! Thanks for sharing it, I’m adding it to my quote journal!
Uncustomary Art.
I actually took the quote from my quote journal (I swear gathering quotes is addictive!)!
