St. Catherine of Sienna set forth quite the challenge and stated quite the amazing truth…
“Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.”
This absolutely stunning quote (the original reads closer to “Be who God meant you to be and you’ll set the world on fire.”) is from a woman who lived from 1347 to 1380. Just how incredible is that?! St. Catherine of Sienna knew who she was and who she was meant to be in her life, even if it went against every single societal convention of her world and she lived it.
Think about it – to just be YOU, simply, truly, completely YOU. The you that was meant to be, body and soul, is an amazing, powerful thing. That is the truest goal in your life. And actually doing so can set the world on fire in a passionate, creative, soul-stirring, mountain-moving way. Heady thought, isn’t it?!
By choosing, actively and wholeheartedly, to be who you were created to be, you can and will make a difference in this world. It’s the truth. Each and every single one of us is here right now for a reason and that reason is found in the core of who and what we are. Speak your truth. Live it. Let it’s love and passion set everything it touches on fire!
To think that just by embracing and being who you are, you can set fire to the rain and make a world of difference. Even if it’s only to one person, and even if that one person is you, it’s still a magnificent, earth-shaking, and perfect thing. I’m ready to say that this girl is on catching on fire…are you?
