Affirmation Mondays 273 – Things turn out the best for people who make the best of the way things turn out

It’s safe to say 2020 has not gone at all like anyone had planned and yet…

“Things turn out the best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.”

Goodness, has this year thrown every single thing for a loop! Over night life was upended for, quite literally, the world, and we were all left to scramble about doing what we could to make something, anything, make sense.

Saying it’s been crazy is an understatement.

That said, however, 2020 has not been a total loss. By taking how it’s turned out and making the best of it, one could choose to see how in many ways 2020 has been a gift. To have the time, the ability to asses and take stock of what’s truly important, of what really matters and to see what could fall away and maybe not be missed.

For myself, 2020 has allowed me to see where I was expending time and energy into things and people and busy work that actually didn’t add anything of value or joy or purpose to my life. I’ve been able to figure out what and where I want to apply myself and how I’d like my one and precious life to look and feel like. The best part is I am actually doing what it takes to make it my reality.

Yes there is still a lot of outside worries and fears, but at the same time, by seeing how I want my life, I’m able to start making changes that ripple outward. If, for example, I want there to be equality for everyone, I need to start with myself. I know that I am equal to every single other person in this world – no more and no less – and I act that way.

It’s a small step, to be sure, but it makes it so that there is one less person acting like a damn fool thinking they are better than and treating others as less than – even if subconsciously. If we all did that, well, we wouldn’t have the problems we currently have now would we! And, if the majority of us did this, a lot of the current tension and hate in this world would be dismantled.

Things really do turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out. There may be overwhelming feelings of fear and hopelessness, but by pausing and considering that maybe this is a wake-up call to how things should no longer be we can start change happening. By actively saying no more, by becoming aware and active and proactive, we can stop this trajectory of misery and hatred and ignorance and put in it’s stead hope, understanding, and competency.

Let’s each do our part to take what 2020 has given us and make the best of it we can. Whether it’s simply make small personal changes or big, global ones, they each make a difference that matters. We really will be okay and life can and will be better!
