Hate will never, ever truly win…
“You may shoot me with your words. You may cut me with your eyes. You may kill me with your hatefulness. But still, like air, I’ll RISE.“
Hate may seem to fill the news. Evil may seem to be making gains. A slippery slope of maliciousness may appear to be the only path available. And yet, this is that fear-based rhetoric making it’s loathsome and pernicious noise the loudest of the moment and it’s not the only way.
This destructive, anger-based mentality wants to drag you down into it’s fearsome, sorrowful pit where you are left frozen with pain, unable to act. It does this to disable your ability to question, to seek out truth, to create change. To wants to prevent you from loving, from growing, from being your own person who openly embraces the new, the different.
It’s happening because those who are in “power” are scared shitless because the to them, change doesn’t line their pockets. Doing things differently doesn’t gain them the kind of control they desire, the kind of supreme authority that they crave – they want to control everyone but themselves – their “kind”. It’s wrong and it’s destructive and it’s cruel.
The thing that they fear the most is openness. Is the kind of transparency that would leave them exposed for the weak charlatans that they are. It would shine a huge spot-light upon their ignorance, their blatant racism, sexism, classism, etc. and it would mean they would have to face the shame and consequences of their hate.
The real, honest to goodness truth is that they are the minority. Most humans are good. They are capable of being kind to each other and to the Earth. They just forget when they have fallen into the pit of despair created by the fear of those in “control”. The more that those of us who see right through this subterfuge shine our own light out into the world, the more we will help to illuminate what is happening and the more we can influence and create the kind of change that matters for the good of all.
They may shoot us with their words. They may cut us with their eyes. They may kill us with their hatefulness. But still, like air, We’ll RISE. We will not be dimmed any longer. We will not be silenced. We will not be stopped. They may try to slow us down, but they will only ignite the flames to brighter, bolder heights of goodness.
There is no stopping the light once it begins to shine and as it grows it will expose everything. This is not to be feared by those who join in the glow, for without the darkness we would never know or appreciate the light in all it’s glory. Goodness, hope, positivity always, always, always rises and that which cannot withstand it will fall away.
While it may still be awhile before everyone is universally treated with equality and fairness and kindness, it has already begun with me and those of a like mind and together we can keep on spreading the light. We can shine brighter where it’s needed and illuminate those who need help getting their light glowing. We will Rise and We will continue to make an uplifting, positive difference. Shine on and Rise!
