“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
Mornings are such a beautiful, precious privilege. Here you are, awakening to a brand new day, one that stretches out in front of you with such golden promise.
You have another opportunity to be alive. To breathe the sweet air into your lungs, to use your unique mind to think, dream, and imagine, to enjoy and engage in all the delightful moments life offers up in abundance, to love yourself and others in a rich, full, glorious way.
Life is so spectacularly marvelous, especially if you choose to view it and live it that way. To be able to wake up in the morning and know that it is a fresh day, a brand new start, a dewy beginning is so incredible.
I find to be awe-inspiring and exciting, I mean what little and big moments of joy and gratification await me during this new day? What golden moments will I witness or create or simply experience? Why so many choose to look at a new day or new week or whatever with a draggy sort of glumness confounds me.
I do understand that sometimes routines can be wearisome, or there are things that one doesn’t look forward to or want to do, but on the whole there is so much more to each day than that and if you focus on the good, why the extraordinary seems to blossom into being (check out this Marcus Aurelius quote for even more insight).
Perhaps I over simplify things, but then again, perhaps things become over-complicated when they really don’t need to be. You have one life, so remember what a precious privilege it is to have that and engage in living it.
