Monday Mantra 132 – I assure you, I’m not together at all. Nor am I broken. I’m recovering…

I assure you, I'm not together at all. Nor am I broken. I'm recovering - finding the beautiful in the ugly and stitching it into my life. Rachel Wolchin quote Word Nerd via LaWhimsyI assure you, I’m not together at all. Nor am I broken. I’m recovering – finding the beautiful in the ugly and stitching it into my life.”~ Rachel Wolchin

This quote is everything. It shines a light on something I find to be of the utmost importance and that is the idea that while I am not whole, I am not broken either. I am simply recovering and healing those things within myself that while ugly, hurting, and raw, have a meaning to them, a lesson, a beauty and I’m seeking those parts out and stitching them into my life and my story. I take this beyond my own inner workings by seeking out the beauty in the ugly everywhere and stitching it into the story I’m creating, the life I’m living. A life that I hope will leave a beautiful footprint behind me and leave this world a little bit better for my having spent time here. I urge you to remember that you, too, are not broken. You are also capable of being in a state of recovery and you can find your own beauty in the ugly around you and make it part of who and what you are. You are the power of your thoughts, your feelings, and you are the sum of all your parts, so seek out the beauty no matter how you define it, and let it become the focal point of your story.
