This quote hits upon a fundamental truth about freedom and particularly the freedom of self-expression. So often the freedom of self-expression is used to excuse scathing rudeness and ruthless bullying – the acts of cowards too afraid to face their own inner truths and demons. Freedom is a gift and while it should be a basic human right, it is one right that is abused, manipulated, and stolen. To really exercise your freedom of self-expression is to be subversive in a world where being true to You and Your Voice is a rare, beautiful and radiant thing. Don’t waste your precious self-expression to tear down others or spread vileness or hate. Use your freedom of voice to create wonder, harmony, peace, and joy. Even if it may seem to cause discord, if your voice is pure, your intentions based in harming no one, but raising all to greater heights, well, then that is true freedom, true self-expression. The World needs more of it and more of YOU!
