Monday Mantra 109 – Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like

Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. Lao Tzu quote Monday Mantra 109 via LaWhimsy“Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”~ Lao Tzu

This Monday Mantra is actually the last part of a wonderful Lao Tzu quote (though aren’t they all wonderful, see Monday Mantra 66 for example)  that goes “Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”. Life has been riddled with what feels like so many tests as of late. Tests of self-worth, of self-control, of faith, of patience, of trusting. And this quote strikes right at the core of it all since the best thing to do is to accept that life is full of changes and to let those changes flow in the natural forward direction they like. To fight it is exhausting, and truly, if you just let go and trust that the Universe has your back, you will find that everything does work it’s self out and usually for the best. This doesn’t mean be passive, it just means that you need to stop fighting the currents of your life and find ways to work with the flow. Relax into reality and as you move forward with what you have, you may find that your reality is flowing more and more the ways your soul desires.
