In Flander’s Field
by John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead.
Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders Fields.
A poppy is a reminder and a buddy poppy is to honor and promise to never forget the sacrifice made by so many to give and protect our freedom. Thank You to each and everyone one of you brave souls who have given your all, past, present and future. You are never quite given the same gratitude, support and aid you have for so long provided and I can only do all that I can to give it back and to raise awareness – you all deserve this small action and so very much more. Thank you on this Veteran’s Day and for each and every day.
Namaste ~ Ella
