“It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Sometimes a simple life makes for the sweetest life…
“It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.”
It really is a gift to be able to celebrate and revel in a simple life, especially when that life is your very own.
A simple life is not a boring life, nor is it a bad life, not even in the slightest. A simple life is just a life that suits your needs with no unnecessary extras or anything that weighs you down needlessly. How nice does that sound?
In a time when everything has been upended and suspended with no true sense of an end (though there will be one eventually), a simple life can be the one we are each living day to day. And it’s so worth celebrating.
To get to awaken each morning, to place one foot in front of the other as we tend to our morning rituals and doings – that’s worth celebrating. To find the joy and delight in the small things – the warmth of the water running over your soapy hands as you do the dishes, the way the air feels on your skin when you step outside to take out the trash or walk the dog (or yourself), the lovely taste of your coffee or tea or water on your tongue – that’s what makes the day and your life worth it.
To find ways to appreciate and celebrate all the little wins that you gain each day. When you knock something off your to-do list, or when you tidy up a bit, or even when you simply do something to get yourself moving – it’s a win.
When you start to celebrate all the small, simple delights of your life, the bigger wins take one even greater meaning, since you’ll definitely celebrate them and feel their importance all the more.
And the more you keep on celebrating your day to day life, the more your mood and energies will glow and resonate and the better you’ll feel. I mean who doesn’t want to simply feel good for the sake of feeling good?
Embrace your simple life and when the tougher, busier, more difficult time arise, you’ll be better able to weather them since you’ll keep all the lovely, little bits too and you’ll cherish them in the quiet moments that will always pepper a day, even if only in the slightest of slivers.
Life is actually lived in the simple, quiet moments as much as it is lived in the loudest moments, you just need to take the time to recognize them and celebrate them for what they are. So even if things are weird or unusual or even a bit out of control in the bigger picture, take the time to celebrate the simple things that make up your life. It truly is no bad thing to have and to embrace and to celebrate a simple life. You may just find a deeper connection that way – to yourself and to your life!
