Bad times happen and however you manage (or not) is okay…

Life can be hard. It just can be. For whatever reasons, whatever happenstances, it can just be rough, difficult, too much. When that happens the response can be equally as hard. Sometimes you cry, you scream, you lash out, you shut down, you just get mad or sad, or all of the above.
It’s all okay.
Life isn’t just about the good times, the happiness, the joy and the bliss. Like everything, there is a balance – good to the bad, light to the dark. It’s only with both that we can truly cultivate a life that is rich, layered, nuanced, and lush.
Yes, it totally and completely sucks out loud when things are rough and hard and ugly and just bad. The thing is, however, you’ve survived all your bad days up to now. You’ve somehow made it through to another side of things.
Sure, you’re beaten up. You have scars and wounds and tender spots and you might feel weak and maybe even a little ill, but you made it through. If you’re in the thick of it right now and feel that way, it’s okay. You can give in a bit to the pity, the pain, the annoyance and hurt and hate of it all. But then you gotta keep going ’cause you are going to make it. I believe in you and I think you are courageous for still trying, however little the trying may feel.
I’ve been in the thick of my own hard days as of late. It’s been rough going and I’ve cried and moped and screamed through it, yet I’m still moving forward. It feels like the tinniest steps, the smallest of movements, but I’m still doing it. I’m still doing what I can to show up for me and to do better for me. I know deep, deep down that I’ve got this and that I will make it to the other side. Life will be light and flowing again and though I may be a bit weather beaten and emotionally sore, I will be okay. Hell, I’m okay right now even if it all feels wrong because I know I’m doing the best I can with what I have and am currently capable of.
You’ve got this, no matter how hard life might have been, might currently be, or may be in the future. You have everything you need within you. It’s all okay and you are okay. Breathe and take care of yourself with love, tenderness, and compassion and keep moving forward bit by bit. You’ve got this!
