Affirmation Mondays 244 – Be unapologetic about who you are and the value you add to this world

Be unapologetic about who you are and the value you add to this world Lindsey Eryn quote Monday Mantra 244 via LaWhimsy“Be unapologetic about who you are and the value you add to this world.” ~ Lindsey Eryn

You are here to take a place, your place, in this world and life…

“Be unapologetic about who you are and the value you add to this world.”

It can be so easy to dismiss yourself, your talents, and the value you add to this world. To make yourself small and almost invisible. But why?

You are a valuable, wonderful, unique soul. One that has purpose. Maybe you don’t know quite what that purpose is or what value you add to the world, but they are there and they matter. You matter.

I don’t know about you but sometimes I can feel like I spend almost all of my time apologizing for who and what I am. Saying sorry for my quirks, for my person, for the space I take up, the noise I make. When I stop and think about it, though, it’s utterly ridiculous.

Why should I be so apologetic for simply being me? I’m not rude, I’m not hateful, I’m rather non-judgmental. Actually, the only place I’m ever really those things is toward myself – how awful is that?! I’m kind and open-minded and readily forgiving of others, but myself, eek!

To turn this tide and mindset, I have challenged myself to be unapologetic about who and what I am. To voice and feel the value I add to the world, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem at times. I am worthy of being who I am without apology to anyone for it. If someone chooses to take offense without opening a discussion or knowing me, well, that is completely on them and actually has nothing to do with me.

It’s not always easy, and in truth, I am in the habit of finding too many reasons to sell my self and my worth short. I have internalized so much of societies lessons in what I am “lacking” and how I am “flawed” or invaluable. It is so worth doing the work to break these thought patterns though, and really, why should self love and feeling unapologetic about myself be a chore or difficult? Sending love and kindness to myself feels so good, so why am I not doing that on the regular?

This world we live in is incredible, however society at large doesn’t want us to truly engage as our unapologetic selves. If we did that, how could they sell us on our “flaws”? How could they keep us small, distractable and controllable? It’s almost laughable how crazy this is when you actually name it for what it is!

Start your own revolution by taking Lindsey Eryn’s advice and choosing to “be unapologetic about who you are and the value you add to the world.” You are worthy, right here, right now, exactly as you are!
