Monday Mantra 230 – I want to think again of dangerous and noble things

I want to think again of dangerous and noble things...as though I had wings Mary Oliver poem quote Monday Mantra 230 via lawhimsy“I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing, as though I had wings.” ~ Mary Oliver

Oh Mary Oliver, what a treasure you were to this weary, glorious world! Your words are precious reminders of our own worthiness and of the sheer awe-inspiring gifts that Nature holds. Thank is hardly enough to express all that You and Your words have provided…

“I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing, as though I had wings.”

How often do you find yourself stuck? Simply siting still (literally or figuratively), dull and dimmed inside and out? Left feeling stagnate and as though all was passing by filled with color as you stay, drained of vibrancy?

It seems so bleak, so awful, when it’s put like that, doesn’t it? Yet, if you were to pause and truly reflect upon yourself, your day-to-day, your levels of actual contentment and fulfillment and joy, would it look a bit like that?

It’s so rough to face, painful even. I get it. I just went through a really difficult time of facing these truths for myself and I get it. I understand the overwhelming feelings of regret, of missing out, of the sense of time lost, of the utter grief of self lost. Of the fear of never finding a way out, of almost believing you’ll never sense the positive, uplifting things again. And here I am, longing, yearning, opening up again…

I am at a place where I desire to think again of dangerous and noble things. To dare to dream giant things for my future, of the impression I can leave upon this world. I want to be light and frolicsome. To be the ditsy, giggly, light-hearted, bubbly Me that is second nature. I desire to be improbable, beautiful, and afraid of nothing – to just embrace so fully and freely who I am and care not what others may or may not think. I want to spread my wings and soar, letting the Universe catch Me as uplift Me as it will. I am ready. I am willing. I am open and I am here, now.

How about you? Are you ready to open yourself up? To trust that your wings will carry you, will guide you to exactly where you need to be? It won’t always be easy and it won’t always be what or how you think you want it, but it will be what it needs to be. If you lean in fully and trust, if you allow yourself to think in positive, I’ve got this, I can survive and thrive doing it, ways, then all will be well and it’ll probably surprise and amaze you as it is.

I keep on reminding myself that I do, in fact, have what I need inside me. I have the strength. I have the ability. I have the power to create the life, the mindset, the ME I want. I just have to actively make it happen and you know what, I am doing just that – as though I had wings! You can too and you are worth the effort!
