Couthy (also spelled couthie) is a rather lovely word meaning agreeable and genial. Couthy goes along quite well with the word hygge, since both words conjure up cozy, comfortable, and utterly delightful thoughts. While couthy is a year-round word, there is something particularly wonderful about it in the cold winter months. In winter one wants to be couthy in a couthy place (though I don’t know about stating it quite like that, lol).
Tea for two or even more is a couthy bit of heaven on a cold and gray sort of day!
