Scriptotherapy is a rather new term to me, however the act of using writing as a form of therapy is not. Scriptotherapy is something I think many of us have practiced, though perhaps not intentionally. Journaling, letter writing, list making, diary keeping – each of these is a form of scriptotherapy. The benefits of writing have long been praised, since it can lead to stress-reduction, problem solving, better mental health, inspiration, a sense of understanding and control…the list goes on and on. Scriptotherapy is a very powerful, yet readily accessible tool and one that can add only good to life by practicing.
