It’s Friday again and guess what – It’s snowing again! The flakes are the huge, thick white kind and it makes me feel like I’m living in some sort of enchanted snow-globe. It’s magical! What hasn’t exactly been magical is the incredibly cold weather this week has brought. I realize I’ve become something of a wuss when it comes to weather extremes since I moved here (here being the Blue Ridge Mountain region of VA), but still, after dealing with Chicago weather and then Phoenix weather, I think I can be a bit wuss-like now. That being said, I’ve been spending my week trying to stay warm and cozy while being somewhat productive (crazy, right?!).
For starters, I was pleasantly surprised to see these darling pompoms gain a bit of popularity on my Tumblr. I think I’ve actually figured out the trick to making really good pompoms of my own and this has me all excited to make some awesomely colored and patterned ones!
This totally amazing early 20th century library tower cabinet from Daily Memorandumon Etsy was also a favorite find over on Tumblr. Besides the cabinet itself being uber drool-worthy, the picture is practically art – Heck, I would hang a print of this on my wall in a flash!
This beautiful work of art titled “Toy” is by smokepaint (Polina). Her gallery on deviantART is so dreamy!
Reading certainly does take you places and I’ve been obsessing over Goodreads – seriously, in the past few days I rediscovered it and I’ve been adding books at an insane pace. Don’t you just love it when you get all obsessive with ‘new’ places on-line!
Naturally, all this cold weather makes me long to take a nice, leisurely bath. The kind filled with creamy bubbles, silky oils, a cup of tea nearby and some soft, soothing music playing. I guess I know how I’d like to spend some time this weekend!
Besides these lovely bits, I made a quick visit to ModCloth and snapped up a few cute things from their Cabin Fever sale *squee*. I live for those deals!
Have a warm and happy weekend!
