The uncomfortably hot, humid weather system has broken and in it’s place a soft, gentle breeze keeps kissing my cheeks with the promise of Summer in it’s breath. Naturally, there is yet another system coming this way (indeed, it should be hitting us tonight and tomorrow), but the weekend looks fairly promising which is great since it’s Flea Market weekend! Nothing quite beats heading to the fair grounds to indulge in junk perusing and all the fried, sweet and salty treats that can be had. Nothing, except maybe Panera Cinnamon Crunch Bagels (drool) and a nice little package arriving with a new CD and book (and a few other delights to share around).
I have now spent the morning listening to The Pierces ~You & I and I have to say I am smitten with their sound. I only wish I could afford more of their CDs (I am so ‘old school’ and have yet to really jump on the mp3 bandwagon, though this might push me over…maybe…). The book is “Steal Like an Artist” by Austin Kleon. It was something of a serendipitous find since I discovered it over on Pinterest and I felt such a kinship to the 10 principles highlighted in the book.
I haven’t done much more than just flip through it, but so far I have been all “heck yeah” and “So much WORD!” (I can’t pull that off, can I, hehe). The creative path is a zany, make your own way, misunderstood and yet so worth it for those who are called to it way and this seems to be quite the handy little guide book.*
After such a crazy month I am delighted to be ending it on such a quiet, calm and delicious note and I am feeling more than ready for June and the start of Summer (though perhaps not it’s hot weather).
