It’s May and am I ever glad about that! April was something of a stressful mess but all is on it’s way to being well again. I did participate in the Feeling Stitchy Stitchalong and I am very glad that I did since it was the only thing I managed to complete in April. This month is a whole other story (I hope!). I am absolutely enamored with the new Stitchalong and I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to do with it. I also have a few other projects that I would love to get done (hello, Mother’s Day!) and a few I’d love to start (I’m itching to be stitching!). Until I do have more to share I thought I’d share these two past pieces of mine. First off is Jelly Bear.
This little guy was a free-hand design that I made up on the fly (or would that be on the stitch?!) as I went along. I just started to sew and as the back-stitches grew so did Jelly Bear. It was so much fun to go into something with no set ideas or goal and to see where my whimsical imagination would end up.
The second piece is this tiny bunny pendant. Seriously this little guy is about an inch and a half from one end of the pendant to the other. I also free-handed him (it was my first time ever doing so) – hence the slightly wonky circle, tee-hee! I cut a piece of cardboard to glue the piece to and then I covered the back with a bit of felt and voila a cute pendant!
Yes, this will be a great month I think, since just posting these two old projects has me all excited to create more! I hope it’s a creative, whimsical and joyful May for everyone!
